| Phobian hearts broken by Asec |

Accra Hearts of Oaks search for point in the CAF MTN Champions League series never materialized after two games when Ivorain side Asec Momosa thrashed the Phobians 3-0 in Group B on Sunday.
The defeat is the second successive Champions league loss by Hearts of Oak after going down 2-0 to Nigeria's Enyimba in the first group clash at home.
Midfielder Didier Ya Konan scored twice to send Asec Abidjan to of the top of their group.
Emmanuel Kone added the third goal in a one-sided win for the Ivory Coast side, who lead Enyimba of Nigeria on goal difference in the Group B standings.
Enyimba were held to surprise 1-1 draw by South African club Orlando Pirates in Aba.
Ya Konan struck with a fierce volley three minutes before half-time and then added a second-half penalty.
His first goal came after a mistake by Hearts' substitute Joseph Techie Mensah, who with his first touch of the ball managed to miscue a header into the path of the Asec midfielder.
The second came from the penalty spot after Stephen Ofei brought down Desire Maglorie Kouame in the 63rd minute.
Kone added the third with 20 minutes left when Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Laud Quartey got a hand to his long-range free kick but failed to keep it out.
The defeat by the Phobians is expected to increase the pressure on the clubs management to sack coach Francis Oti Akenteng a string of poor results lately.
Fans of the club have called for the dismissal of the coach after the Hearts of Oaks opening game defeat to Enyimba in the Champions League competition. |
