Accra Hearts of Oak beat Liberty Professionals by a lone goal yesterday in a memorial match in honour of the late Emmanuel Offei-Ansah.
Substitute Alfred Nii Larbi got the only goal of the game in the second half when he replaced Eric Gawu.
The match was in memory of the former Hearts trainer who died after a league game between the two sides last year.
That game last year also ended 1-0 in favour of the Phobians.
As Hearts prepare for their champions league campaign on the 16 of July, current Hearts of Oak coach Francis Oti Akenteng hopes Offei Ansahs memory will inspire them to a win over their first opponents Enyimba of Nigeria.
Though the game was to raise funds for the family of the departed coach, they failed to meet the target in terms of attendance.
But Management member Frank Nielson Nwokolo told Joy Sports the club will bear the rest of the responsibility. |
